Securing your Vessel
Your vessel should be secured to the trailer, negating
any movement of the hull on the trailer rollers and/or
guides, which can potentially cause damage. We
suggest a ratchet strap over both the stern and the
bow of your vessel, securely attaching it to the trailer.
Importantly your vessel should not be secured by the
front tow hook to the winch alone. Please ensure the
front of the boat is secured with an additional strap.
Motor
The motor on your vessel should be chained and padlocked
to the boat. The key is to be provided to
Autotrans, allowing for the motor to be repositioned
for loading (especially if the shaft is long line).
NOTE
All vessels are transported subject to sighting
by Autotrans staff.
Autotrans does not accept any liability for:
- Damage or equipment failure, such as the
collapse of rollers or guides from wear.
- Rust, metal fatigue, wood rot or support
fracture.
- Faulty fittings or poor maintenance
- Loss or damage of any equipment left on the
boat, including life jackets, radio or anchor.
Equipment Faults
Check for any possible equipment failure such as:
Collapse of rollers or guides by rust, metal
fatigue, support fracture.
Collapse of main frame of the trailer due to
rust or metal fatigue.
Faulty fittings and adjustments.
Loose Items
All personal and loose parts or specialty items
from the vessel must be removed, such as:
Flares, life jackets, radios, anchors etc.
Large aerials should be retracted, folded
back or removed if possible.
Boat covers should be removed for
transportation, unless they have been custom
designed and fitted by the manufacturer.
